| What is a dalandan? | Dalandan (in English, often called the “Philippine Orange” or “sour orange”) is a fruit with a green peel and orange flesh. It has a tart flavor though its sweetness increases as it becomes more mature. Dalandans are an excellent source of vitamins C and A, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, calcium, and flavonoids. They have anti-inflammatory properties and can help with digestion. They are commonly eaten fresh or enjoyed as juice all over the Philippines. Season: July to September |
